REMEMBER JANUARY 6

Voices of Nebraska had scheduled two protests for today (one in Lincoln and one in North Platte) to remember all that took place on January 6, 2021--AND (perhaps more importantly) all that has followed since. The protests were canceled due to the cold temperatures.

The protest was scheduled from 11AM - 2PM. I stayed until 12:30PM and left when my friend Terri arrived to take over to finish out the lunch hour. (Thank you, Terri!)

Canceling was absolutely the right thing to do, as not everyone has the proper clothing to stay safe in such cold temperatures, and we want everyone to stay safe. I never had any intention of not being there, though.

So even though the weather did not cooperate for us to assemble together today, please take a moment to reflect on what happened on January 6, 2021, and what it all means.
