I think that common sense should dictate that we do not have the luxury of time to address election integrity. I believe that it is a bit naïve to think that we would. Look at the rapid erosion of freedoms which we have been subjected to in the past year alone. We know that fraud played a role in the outcome of the November 2020 election. Fool us once, shame on them. But we have the opportunity to get it right in our upcoming primary election in May. Fool us twice, shame on us. The shame will be upon US if we do not stand up and defend something as precious as our vote, which is our voice in government.
I believe that what stops the tyranny is WE THE PEOPLE demanding accountability from our government. We should not think that we have any duty to try to find solutions within a system which is corrupt. The better course of action, I believe, is to rally the people to reclaim their rightful role in government.
We should not assume a subservient position to a government that is not representing us, but we should claim, use, and defend the freedoms which are upheld by an adherence to the constitution. It is our rightful place to insist that the government that works for us. Those who are not sincere about being public servants should never have asked for the job. Our government consists of people who swore an oath to uphold our rights, and they MUST find a way to do whatever is necessary to adhere to that oath and ensure that the unconstitutional Election Systems and Software (ES&S) contract is brought to an end RIGHT NOW. I find it unconscionable that those who swore an oath to uphold our constitution would ever knowingly permit an unconstitutional primary election to take place.
I have always said that we might not like the answers that we get when we ask our elected officials to uphold their oath, but the responses we receive when we raise concerns about the constitutionality of our elections with our elected officials (again, who swore an oath) will tell us everything that we need to know about whether we may expect any legitimate elections to be held from this point forward.
Our government derives its authority from the people. If the people knowingly relinquish their right to a free election (which is what will occur if we permit our government to hold a primary election which we believe to be unconstitutional), then do not expect that any elected government which failed to defend your constitutional rights when it had the chance is EVER going to restore to you what you so easily gave away.
